A Personal Challenge

To encourage myself to continue writing, to explore varied genres and emotional tones, I've decided to begin selecting two disparate images every week. My goal is to concoct a short story which connects them in some fashion and to publish the tale on Friday. You are welcome to jump in if you so desire.

The images I'll be using this week:

After a brief span of slightly warmer weather February is up to it's old tricks, delivering ice, snow and cold temperatures to us. How very frabjous.

  1. Ha...my latest novel/wip was prompted by an image, perfect for a cover of the story it initiated. (I'm still waiting to hear back from the photographer if the image is available...sigh)

  2. Yay, a new blog! Always nice to have a fresh start. And I love that Gregorian chant version of The Sound of Silence -- very haunting. I'm going to steal this for my "Hymns Old and New" series. We seem to swipe music from each other, LOL, and that's great!

  6. Hey, good to see you again! Cheers to a fresh start. Those are some intriguing pics. I know it takes place in a church, but I expect a body count of at least 8.

  7. Beautiful images, especially the cathedral. Do you know which it is? I tried to follow the source, to no avail.
I will be intrigued to hear how the challenge goes. I am hopeless at using writing prompts. I wish you luck and inspiration!

    1. This week, being another busy one, I'll only do this one. Later on I may do both, especially if I can keep it a bit on the lighter side.

    1. Oooo, can't wait! I'm dithering between two story lines... one is a bit too long for a blog post, however.
