Tomatoes

As you may (or may not) recall; other than a bit of basil and rosemary, I only had room and time to plant one food plant this year, a cherry tomato called Black Cherry. I am happy to report that this lone plant has worked it's little organic roots and leaves off to keep us in tomatoes:

I have to pick them before they are fully ripe and let them finish ripening inside, where a hungry little rabbit can't reach them. Mayhap I should change my name to Beatrix, dress the bunny in a wee jacket and plant some carrots?

Off to the doctor in the morning, keep your fingers crossed for me.

  1. Mmmmmm, home grown tomato. Very little spells summer better than that.
Fingers, toes and eyes crossed for your doctor's visit.

    1. Thank you EC! I found out that the diabetes medication I've been on for years has put me on the path to kidney failure; fortunately it's reversible at this point as long as I stop that medication. There was good news as well. =D

  3. Cherry tomatoes are so expensive to buy here, yet buy them we do because they just taste better. Good luck with your doc.

    1. I like this new doctor Andrew, she's competent, efficient and has a quality many doctors lack: compassion.

Good produce is very expensive in the stores here as well, but there are scads of excellent produce stands about. We picked up organic watermelon, beefsteak tomatoes and pickling cucumbers for refrigerator pickles for $6 USD. More than enough of all to last the week.
